3 out of 5

Watch it for Rob Lowe’s tan and John Cusack’s cat-like/eyeliner eyes (intensified by his unblemished and boyish face). That’s about all I got …

Also, on a contradictory note from the previous sentence, I hear that Class was the début film of John Cusack, Andrew McCarthy, Alan Ruck, and Virginia Madsen.

Also, once again, by “hear” I mean “I looked up the information on Wikipedia and IMDb”.

Also, ahem, in true Cusack fashion – both John and Joan act in the film. Though, I didn’t notice Joan in the film and only “hear” that it is true.

Well, shit, I’ve come this far … I’ll go ahead and give you a gosh darned review:

McCarthy plays a virgin, an innocent, and a target. His first day at prep school proves this. Lowe plays his roommate who is an opportunist at heart. He is quick to play a practical joke on McCarthy. It appears that the prank really shakes up McCarthy, but he’s a little tougher than originally thought and comes back with a practical joke of his own. It never gets more interesting than this despite the Virginia Madsen boob shot and sex-with-an-older-woman saga. Oh well …

Shoot, might as well end this thing on a positive note:

Jacqueline Bisset’s role certainly struck me with an air of sophistication when I was younger – leaving me with great determination to grow up as a woman who drinks and sleeps with younger men. I can happily report that I manifested just that.  Ta-da! Now that I have re-viewed the movie with wiser, adultish eyes; I think it proper to give up drinking part, keep sex with younger man part (just the one though) and add mansion and horse riding.  Will keep you up to date with the mansion and horse riding …

Review: Only watch this movie if you have desire to manifest, um, desires.
